Port Huron, MI – Port Huron Hospital Women’s Wellness Place will hold its 10th Annual Women and Heart – Wine, Cheese and Chocolate event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 6, at the Black River Country Club.
Participants will enjoy a fun and informational evening focused on heart disease and prevention. Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. It is also one of the most preventable. Emergency Center nurse manager Holly Lotts, RN, will discuss common causes and prevention methods of heart disease. Crystal Mosher, a community advocate for helping women recognize signs and symptoms of heart disease, will share her personal story of heart disease.
The evening will include an information area with free blood pressure screenings, fitness information, a pharmacy technician, chocolate, jewelry and ceramic artisans, and the opportunity to savor delicious wine, cheese and chocolate while enjoying time with friends. Participants are encouraged to wear red – the national color of women’s heart health awareness.
This special program is held annually in observance of American Heart Month.
