Port Huron Hospital Foundation committees are made up of volunteers from the community who donate their time and talent to help the Foundation and Port Huron Hospital make a difference in the health of our community. The volunteers that make up the Annual Golf Classic committee are dedicated to making a hospital stay as comfortable as possible for both children and their families.
The mission of the Foundation's Annual Support committee is to increase awareness of Port Huron Hospital projects and activities, and to provide opportunities for the community to support the hospital's efforts. The committee seeks financial support for the hospital through Cornerstone Club, Business Honor Roll and other giving opportunities.
The mission of the Beacon Society committee is to increase the number of individual major donors to Port Huron Hospital and to strengthen relationships with those donors. The Beacon Society, founded by the Special Gifts committee in 1991, recognizes a select group of caring community members who are dedicated to Port Huron Hospital and continued health care excellence.
The Lexington, Marysville and Yale/Capac Community Health Team committees work to identify health education and service needs in our community, and then implement new programs to meet those needs. The Helmet Safety committee works to increase helmet use among children and adults riding "bikes, blades and boards."
Volunteers of the Employees That Care (ETC) committee contribute their time to assisting with the ETC Club, which supports Port Huron Hospital projects that benefit hospital employees, patients and our community. ETC programs and projects are solely supported through employee contributions. ETC Club assists employees with personal crisis or family emergencies, provides support for employee sponsored social events and funds special projects that benefit patients, hospital employees and the community.
These committee members contribute their time to the annual Festival of Trees, a huge community event with over 12,000 participants every holiday season. This event has raised over a million dollars to benefit Children’s Services of Port Huron Hospital.
The Major Gifts Committee exists to identify and solicit those individuals who are willing to make a contribution of $25,000 or more to Port Huron Hospital and its healthcare partners. This contribution may be a one-time gift or a pledge over time (not more than 5 years). The committee is made up of community leaders who believe in the mission of Port Huron Hospital and support it thorough major philanthropic means.
The mission of the Planned Giving committee is to work with estate and financial planning professionals to promote charitable giving through seminars on estate planning, financial planning and tax-tips. The committee also prepares brochures and articles to provide information to the community on related topics. The Heritage Circle Giving Club recognizes, honors and thanks those persons whose vision and stewardship have moved them to perpetuate the Hospital through planned gifts.
