1. Where will I go for care?

a. Our new relationship with McLaren will improve the hospital’s ability to serve you. Access to care will not be interrupted, and we will make every effort to make any changes as seamless to our patients as possible. Our goal is that you will continue to receive high quality care right here.
b. We are planning to make more healthcare services available locally, reducing the need for patients to have to leave the community.

2. Can I still see my doctor?

a. Yes. You will still be able to continue your relationship with local doctors.
b. Our goal is that you will continue to receive high quality care right here at McLaren Port Huron, from your trusted, capable physician. In fact, the agreement with McLaren enables us to expand our services and improve our facility.

3. Will current services still be provided?

a. Yes. The decision to provide specific health care services remains with our local board. The hospital board continues its commitment to the health, safety and service of our patients and families, and investments in the community.

4. What will happen to the pharmacy?

a. Pharmacy services will continue to be available.

5. Will I be able to have my baby at PHH?

a. Yes. Family Birth Place services will continue to be available.

6. Will you still hold educational classes and support groups?

a. Health education classes are offered based on the community’s interest or needs. We expect this to continue. In fact, the agreement with McLaren may enable us to expand these services.

7. I don’t have insurance. Will I still be able to get care here?

a. Our goal is to continue to provide high quality care to all patients in need, regardless of ability to pay. McLaren has agreed to continue our policy regarding discounts and charity care and has an established history of cooperatively working with patients to help pay for their care.
