
Port Huron Hospital's Community Cancer Program has been accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACS CoC) since 1990. According to the ACS CoC, "only programs offering the best in cancer care" are given accreditation.
In fact, only one in four hospitals that treat cancer receive this special approval. This accreditation is a recognition of the quality of our comprehensive patient care and of our commitment that you will have access to all of the various medical specialists who are involved in diagnosing and treating cancer.

Our medical staff includes four oncologists, a radiation oncologist and highly qualified general surgeons, radiologists, internists, urologists, pulmonologists, gynecologists and other specialists. Our oncologists participate in national clinical trials through affiliations with national research programs.

This unit is designed to create a healing environment for cancer patients and their families when they require an overnight stay in the hospital. The cancer treatment unit features expert medical care plus therapeutic massage and spiritual counseling.

Cancer Support Group for Women - We invite women experiencing cancer to attend our support group to help cope with the struggle that all cancers can bring at any stage.

This service is offered on both an inpatient and outpatient basis to reduce suffering and improve quality of life for cancer patients. It includes both diagnostic and therapeutic services. Treatments include epidural injections, nerve blocks, Pharmacological control, pumps/stimulators, radio frequency ablation, and trigger point injections.
Because pain affects individuals in many ways, the treatment plan evolves around the whole person - body, mind and spirit - including nutritional counseling, massage therapy, stress reduction, and psychological counseling.
Many special screening and educational programs for the early detection and prevention of cancer are offered through Women's Wellness Place and 55 Plus membership programs.
