Working On Wellness (WOW) is now a familiar initiative to help Port Huron Hospital employees make healthier choices. It includes semi-annual screenings which are taking place in March/April and August 2010.
All employees are welcome to join. The goal is to help employees make healthier choices for themselves.
The vision of Port Huron Hospital is to “make a difference in the health of our communities”… Do you want to become healthier? Would you like a few extra dollars in your pocket? These are just a couple of reasons you should join us. In Fall 2005, a group of employees volunteered to join the Wellness Team. That team, along with the Executive Team was given the challenge of developing a program to encourage employees to make healthier choices. WOW is the result.
A health risk appraisal must be completed annually. If you did not complete the appraisal for your March screenings, then prior to your August screening you must complete the appraisal which is available through the hospital’s website. Go to the employee page at porthuronhospital.org. Click on the WOW logo at the bottom of the page. You will be asked for a password. It is wow. When you’ve completed the appraisal, print it and take the first page of it with you to your screening.
Call HealthAccess at extension 3199 to set up an appointment time that is convenient for you. Screenings will be held in Classroom 4 at the following dates and times:
We are also offering Tdap- Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis vaccines for our employees-FREE
