About the Port Huron Hospital Foundation

Click here for Information related to the 2009 21st Annual Festival of TreesThe Foundation provides a working link between the hospital and the community and establishes an environment which results in increased philanthropic support.

The focus of the Foundation is to build lasting relationships with employees, medical staff, volunteers, committee members and donors, as well as people attending health service programs and events. The Foundation works to increase the number of people involved in each of these groups and to strengthen the relationship of each group with the hospital.

The Foundation is composed of committees of leading community volunteers. Each of the committees conducts programs which communicate with, cultivate, solicit and recognize specific publics. These programs fall in three general areas:

  • Communication, education and involvement
  • Service and recognition
  • Philanthropic support

In 2000, the Foundation added a new focus by developing Community Health Teams in each of the communities surrounding the Community Health Centers in Capac, Lexington, Marysville, and Yale. The goal of each Community Health Team is to identify local health issues and develop activities in support of those issues.

In addition, the Foundation has committees that organize two community special events each year: the Annual Golf Classic and the Festival of Trees. These events raise funds to enhance the services at Port Huron Hospital.
